Groupprops:Subgroup property definition article
Template:Groupprops article format
A subgroup property definition article is a property definition article for a subgroup property.
Naming
The same guidelines are followed as for a general property definition article.
Adjectival naming
Most subgroup properties are named adjectivally, that is, as adjective for property, followed by the word subgroup. For instance, normal subgroup, characteristic subgroup, Sylow subgroup, pronormal subgroup and so on.
Member-noun naming
For some subgroup properties, there is no adjectival description, and we instead have a member noun describing any instance that satisfies the property. For instance, the term direct factor is a member-noun
Property-noun naming
For some subgroup properties, there may be a property noun stemming from the adjectival name. In this case, the article is chosen with the adjectival name, and the property noun redirects to the adjectival name.
For instance, normality redirects to normal subgroup, characteristicity redirects to characteristic subgroup.
