This is a status report describing the status and performance of the wiki with respect to some parameters

Important milestones

  • 24 November 2006: Groupprops first incarnated on
  • 20 February 2007: Groupprops was started here, on wiki-site
  • 15 March 2007: A preliminary front-end was made for public viewing
  • 30 May 2007: A groupprops clean-up for public viewing, as well as complete transfer of material from, will be completed
  • 4 July 2007: Groupprops became an Advanced Wiki
  • 7 January 2008: The Mediawiki version running Groupprops was upgraded to 1.11

Page growth

  • 27 April 2007: 614 articles (including redirects), 28 Project pages, 178 templates, 51 categories
  • 16 May 2007: 751 articles (including redirects), 32 Project pages, 223 templates, 52 categories
  • 5 June 2007: 732 legitimate pages, 887 articles (including redirects), 51 Project pages, 275 templates, 63 categories, 2 user pages, and a few talk pages
  • 11 July 2007: 1070 articles (including redirects), 3 talk pages, 4 user pages, 5 user talk pages, 67 Project pages, 1 Project talk page, 313 templates, 79 categories
  • 8 January 2008: 1394 legitimate pages

Search engine result growth

Searches in the search bar are increasingly pointing to groupprops. One of the main competitors used to be the earlier address, but it has now almost disappeared.

Some observations (as of 24th May 2007):

  • Some specialized phrases for article names return only the relevant groupprops article. For instance, doing a Google search for "normal versus characteristic" returns a unique entry, giving a link to the Groupprops article on the subject.

  • As of 24th May 2007, there are no participants other than the person who started the wiki, viz Vipul Naik.
  • As of 24th July 2007, there are 8 registered users on the wiki, of which around 3-4 have made positive contributions to the wiki.
