This article is about a Polish-American group theorist (a Polish-American person working in group theory)

Israel Nathan Herstein (March 28, 1923 – February 9, 1988) was a Polish-American mathematician.

He was born in Poland but moved to Canada in 1926. He was a professor at the University of Chicago in Illinois, and published over 100 papers.

He wrote several books. Here is a non-exhaustive list.
